Give yourselves to one another completely- be generous in your giving and place no condition on these gifts. Love one another fully and constantly. Be humble in your acceptance of your partner’s love. Be honest with each other, be thankful for each others love and strive to develop its richness day by day. Respect each other in every way. Be patient with one another’s weakness and accept each other for what you are – not for what you wish they were.
Communicate constantly with one another; be calm, patient, tolerant and reasonable in your communication. Be capable of good listening. Share with one another good fortune and misfortune alike. Be compassionate and express your love for one another constantly. Know your limitations and be honest with yourself as you are with one another. Fuse your souls into one and be happy for the love you have been fortunate to find in one another.

A reading from the Book of Ecclesiasticus

Two can accomplish more than one, for a result can be much better. If one fails the other pulls them up. But if you fail when you are alone, you are in trouble.

Also two gain warmth from each other. For how can you be warm alone? And one standing alone can be attacked and defeated but two can stand side by side and conquer.

A loving partner is a safe shelter, whoever finds one has found a rare treasure. A loving partner is something beyond price there is no measuring their worth.

A loving partner is a life saving remedy and those who respect the Lord will find true life and a person so is their loved one.

A reading from the first letter of St Paul to the Romans

Let your love be genuine and sincerely prefer good to evil. Love one another with great affection and have profound respect for each other. If you have hope, this will make you cheerful. Do not give up if difficulties come, and keep praying. Think of the needs of others. Seek to be compassionate and kind, humble and patient. Be tolerant with one another and be ready to forgive and on top of all these be loving because love binds everything in your heart and be thankful. What ever you do or say we do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus. Giving thanks to God the father through him.

Two sturdy oaks I mean, which side by side,
Withstand the winter’s storm,
And spite of wind and tide
Grow up the meadows pride,
For both are strong.

Above they barely touch, but undermined
Down to their deepest source,

Inseparably.

Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter for the other.
Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there will be no loneliness,
For each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two persons, but there are three lives before you:
His life, her life and your life together.
Go now to your dwelling place to enter into the days of your life together.
May beauty surround you both in the journey ahead and through all the years.
May happiness be your companion to the lace where the river meets the sun, and may your days together be happy and long upon the earth.
